ABC's of Salvation

What do you get up for in the morning? What are you looking for in life? How will you handle the really tough times?

Hard questions don't have easy answers, but they do have an answer. That answer is ultimately found in the God who created the universe and loves you unconditionally. How do you find that God? How do you reach Him? This is the Good News: God has come looking for you! He has reached out to you!

Saying "Yes" to God begins with your desire to respond to His gracious Gift of Jesus Christ. Here are some ways to help you do just that. Discover for yourself life the way it was meant to be. Receive God's Gift today!

Admit
Admit that you need a right relationship with God. Admit that you are a sinner.

Pride keeps us from doing some of the most important things in life. Don't let your pride keep you from THE most important thing in this life and the next!

as Scripture says, "Not one person has God's approval. (Romans 3:10 GW)

Because all people have sinned, they have fallen short of God's glory. (Romans 3:23 GW)

Believe
Believe that God's Son Jesus Christ makes it possible for you to have a right relationship with God.

There is nothing that you can do, no matter how good or great, to ever restore your relationship with God.

In other words, God was using Christ to restore his relationship with humanity. He didn't hold people's faults against them, and he has given us this message of restored relationships to tell others. (2 Corinthians 5:19 GW)

Confess
Confess your sin to God, change the way you think and act, and accept His forgiveness.

Everyone of us chooses to live our lives like we want to, taking charge, ignoring God, pleasing ourselves. That's what separates us from God. That's why we need His forgiveness.

Jesus said in Luke 5:32, "I've come to call sinners to change the way they think and act, not to call people who think they have God's approval."

Through Jesus your sins can be forgiven. Sins kept you from receiving God's approval through Moses' Teachings. However, everyone who believes in Jesus receives God's approval. (Acts 13:38-39 GW)

Three important questions:

  1. Does what you have read above make sense?
  2. Is there any reason you would not be willing to receive God's free gift of eternal life?
  3. Are you willing to turn from your sin and place your faith in Jesus right now?

If your answers are yes, you can receive Jesus Christ right now through prayer (talking to God).  God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart.

  Say this simple prayer:

Dear God, I know that Jesus is Your Son, and that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead for me.  I know I have sinned and need forgiveness.  I am willing to turn from my sins right now and receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord. Take control of the throne of my life and make me the kind of person You want me to be.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Welcome to the family of God!  If you sincerely prayed this prayer, you have just made the most important decision of your life.  You can be sure you are saved and have eternal life because:

God keeps His promises

You repented of your sin.
So change the way you think and act, and turn to God to have your sins removed. (Acts 3:19 GW)

You placed your faith in Jesus.
God saved you through faith as an act of kindness. You had nothing to do with it. Being saved is a gift from God. It's not the result of anything you've done, so no one can brag about it. (Ephesians 2:8-9 GW)

You surrendered to Jesus as Lord.
If you declare that Jesus is Lord, and believe that God brought him back to life, you will be saved. By believing you receive God's approval, and by declaring your faith you are saved. (Romans 10:9-10 GW)

God recorded your commitment

"Be happy that your names are written in heaven." (Luke 10:20 GW)

Now you need to grow as a Christian.  Attend a bible believing church on Sunday and share the decision and commitment you've made with their church family.
