Sunday Jan 4 2009: Church Planting Missionaries in Canada
http://www.cpmissions.net/2003/MissionaryMoments/moment.asp
Morning:  In the vast land mass of Canada, thousands of communities have little or no evangelical witness. GARY and SUE SMITH share God’s love with Canadians as North American church planting missionaries. Their ethnically diverse harvest field features many faces, cultures, and languages, but the Smiths see past those differences to the common need: Jesus Christ. As your church puts love in action by participating in the Cooperative Program, Gary enlists, encourages, trains, and mentors church planters who will spread out across Canada. Pray for Gary’s effectiveness as he sows together with others to start churches and for God to open doors for a bolder Gospel witness in Canada. Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men.
Sunday Jan 4 2009: Your Commitment is Making a Difference

Evening:  Justin* is a Muslim teacher in a village near SHAD and MICHELLE SPANNAGEL and their children, Hannah and Haven. As church planters among the Western Fulani in Niger, West Africa, the Spannagels visited Justin and his family each week, sharing the Good News through stories. When the rainy season came, roads to Justin’s village became impassable. But not even muddy, rut-filled roads can stop the Gospel from spreading as the Spannagels use a four-wheel-drive truck to visit the village. Your love for the Lord and commitment to reaching people through the Cooperative Program enable Shad and Michelle to visit Justin and his family on a regular basis. Justin accepted Jesus as his Savior and has a burden for his family and his village. Pray that they will hear and accept Jesus. * Name changed for security reasons STATEMENT: The new year brings new opportunities for us to practice our faith through our giving. Our giving provides the resources for us to help reach the lost for Christ. Let’s resolve to work to be able to grow in our giving this year for God’s glory.
